CharroBeans: A Mariachi Podcast

The CharroBoys discuss problems heading to a gig. After Sammy’s car left him stranded on the side of the road, we recall other situations where we struggled to get to our destination. Getting pulled over, bubbleguts, forgetting your things, changing a flat are all among your submissions. How many charros does it take to change a tire? 

The CharroBoys get in competition mode. We lock in and discuss competition season in Texas. We talk our experiences, Sammy’s experience as a director, and beefs. You remember going on stage nervous? Yeah, us too. 

The CharroBoys recorded with one sick ass foo. Sammy dealt with a bad gripa and cough this week and we discuss the times we don’t feel 100% at gigs. We talk about mariachi families, growing up, and the weekend. Come listen, yo. 

The CharroBoys were apart this week. Sammy headed off to a music teacher conference and Victor stayed behind and humbly worked. Nevertheless, after admitting Victor missed Sammy dearly, we get into a convo about things we don’t enjoy about mariachi. Everyone knows we can’t change everything but if you could, what would that be? Maybe the consistent playlists, the drunk clients that don’t care about you, maybe people being fake? Cosas así. Come hang. 

The CharroBoys discuss time travel. If you could go back and hang out with one of your favorite mariachi singers/icons, what would you ask them about? We discuss our picks and at the same time read your responses. Would you talk to Gaspar about starting Mariachi Vargas, have a drink with Jose Alfredo, or maybe even talk with a mariachi legend still around today? Maybe get some tacos and eat them on a curbside somewhere?

The CharroBoys discuss some times that we have felt disrespected at our performances. As you know, we go through a lot to play and entertain clients and I think we all have shared experiences where we felt offended at the audacity. We look at examples and instances from our listeners as well. We discuss things like getting told to stop singing, people not paying, getting called rude names, and a little bit of throw up. You ate corn didn’t you? 🤮

The CharroBoys real fucked up. The episode was so good, they had to record it twice. Sammy messed up the first recording with some technical difficulties so we had to re-record. Thankfully, the second try was good. We get into whether we and our listeners have anything they would change about their high school/college/professional careers up to this point. We get into our own experiences like working in outside groups in high school, regretting not learning to sing, and getting into mariachi education today. So do us a favor, and listen to the episode since we had to put in twice the effort. 

The CharroBoys are back again. After a brief 7 month hiatus we are back to share more with you. We get back into things by explaining our absence, what we've been up to, and our future plans with the pod. We also get into some falls, some naps, and some love stories. A little bit of everything went into this one but were just happy to be back. We missed, ya.

This one was special. We know it’s been a while since we’ve been gone and we’ll get more into it once we come back but we want y’all to enjoy a special episode. Sammy is getting married soon so we had a special “bachelor episode” with the boys from Mariachi Allende, all at once! We get into lots like how we all got into the group and how it was back in the day. It was so fun doing this. We hope you enjoy. We will be back 😉
