As a whole, we want mariachi music to succeed and continue to stay relevant, but it feels like different factors are continually working against us. We get into some answers like the competition among colleagues, mariachi being "old people music", stereotypes, lack of innovation, egos like that dude Remy and much much more. With all due respect. The CharroBoys finished Mother's Day week and the dust is settling. Today's CharroTopic deals with one of the heaviest weekends of the year. After playing for hours and hours for random mothers, we reflect on the amount of work it takes to get through a week like this. We discuss our 5 hour gigs on 5 hour energy shots, stopping for pee breaks, naps and lack of sleep, pains, and doppelgängers. Imagine spending all that money on a mariachi and the mom just sitting there like 😐

The CharroBoys get rowdy. Today’s CharroTopic deals with times rowdyness was an all time high. It could be a mariachi, the members, or even the clients that got too rowdy. We got lots of responses like dealing with fireworks, failure to zelle payment, playing for narcos, and people who are offended you can’t play a song. Did I say rowdy enough? 

The CharroBoys got the camera working again. Today’s CharroTopic deals with unpopular opinions our followers feel they can’t say without getting hated on. Some mariachi groups are overrated? Do we need violins? Substance abuse in the music industry? Little bit of everything in this episode. Come see. 

The CharroBoys faced some technical difficulties, but we made it work. Estaba buena la platica since this was our longest episode in a while. Today’s topic deals with the crazy hours that clients have the audacity to ask for. It doesn’t always work out unfortunately. We also get into playing in a room with a corpse, watching boxing, puros corridos on the playlist, wearing new suits, and Sammy’s teacher duties. You ever show up to a ridiculous time for a gig and the client doesn’t pick up the phone? 🥴

The CharroBoys get into the topic of the day: super rare facts that our listeners know about mariachi culture and history. It seems we’ve all heard many myths and legends in the mariachi industry so we discuss some of the things you’ve heard around. We get into conspiracy theories, promposals, slow singers, and bunch of other shenanigans. Come join the pendejadas. 

The CharroBoys got into it today with what it’s like to tell a boss you’re leaving for another group or opportunity. We talk about how daunting the task can be, also we dive into times we had to do the same thing in former groups. We also get into being sick, flaking last minute, our boss going on vacation, and Vic being sus. We played from people from Sinaloa too and we were scared. 

The CharroBoys had a late night recording. We get into some Rangers baseball talk, dying, misunderstandings with fellow group members, Victor’s glow up, judges opinions during a competition, Sammy forgetting things that happened, and Victor almost getting beat up by a girl’s husband. We can’t be held accountable for what we said when we were sleepy. 😔

We discuss the different people and things that have molded the music like artists, arrangers, mariachi in schools, and its ventures around other genres.
