CharroBeans: A Mariachi Podcast

The CharroBoys take the podcast on the road! Live from El Paso Border Folk Festival, the guys speak for the students at the conference talking about the Beans’ origin, their common experiences as students, and discuss their mariachi education with the people of El Paso, TX. Really grateful for this awesome opportunity! 

The CharroBoys discuss a lil sum sum about supporting your fellow musician friends, playing and paying for good instruments, stress of competition and concerts, and clients thinking you’re cheating them. This convo got us stressed in parts. PTSD of people getting panic attacks. Man, crazy times. Can we just play mariachi? 🥴

The CharroBoys get into it this week with random body pains, playing at a planta til 2am, playing for rich people, and finishing the night at lit parties. We got a lil too wild this week 🥴🍺

The CharroBoys go in on this episode with feeling tired all that time, the dynamic of a group when involving new players, respecting women, and caimanes that break up groups with selfishness. Also people in Texas stay strapped at all times. 🔫👀

The CharroBoys discuss some topics today like college life and professors, letting mariachi control your whole life, gigging while working a full time job, and a little bit of paranormal stories. Clients also always think they’re so funny putting down the mariachi. What up with that? 

The CharroBoys really did a podcast after gigging smh. We're lowkey sleep deprived at 4am while eating Whataburger, but we get into the weekend's shenanigans including playing for a 20 quinceñeras at once, almost getting bit by wasps, nervous singing, and playing for Don Miguel’s family. We forget the Don Miguel is a whole ass man with a family. Like coworkers actually have lives outside of mariachi hahaha

The CharroBoys get into it today with what actually qualifies someone to be called a maestro, ruining the surprise at a party, cockroaches, and not being offered water. All these coolers and not one water, bro. A pero las chelas?

The CharroBoys get in discussion mode today. We get into the present education system in the United States with mariachi as opposed to its home country of Mexico, language barriers, the disconnect of the two, and also a little bit of what happened this past weekend. Nothing disappoints you more than when the food at the gig isn’t as good as you hoped it was.
