CharroBeans: A Mariachi Podcast

The CharroBoys are back with one more episode before taking a hiatus. We get into taking time off, the city of Fort Worth, ghosts, social media, getting old, playing a full hour at the wrong place. Why didn’t anyone stop us? Smh 

The CharroBoys sit down with Saul Flores, violinist/voz with Mariachi Allende. We discuss his beginnings training as a classical violinist in Oak Cliff, being on Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, perfect pitch, taking a break from school t Texas State, and playing in both the DFW and Central Texas. This foo never ages so he passes off as Victor’s son and the clients still believe it. 

The CharroBoys celebrate 1 year since its inception! They discuss the beginning of CharroBeans, tequila, playing with new people, heading to Oklahoma, and singing priests. Never seen a Padre with so much drip.❄️

The CharroBoys chat with their compañero Luis "Bollo" Ramirez, violinist/voz for Mariachi Allende about his recent graduation from the UNT School of Music, his beginnings in a heavily influenced mariachi family, getting fired from Mariachi Allende, untraditional degree plans, and balancing the school and hella gigs life. You know you're a college student when you bring your laptop to the planta to do a last-minute assignment. Asi andaba.

The CharroBoys get into the long Mother's Day weekend, Arturo Vargas getting fired (he quit) from Mariachi Allende, people who talk shit over the internet, and mariachi gas station diets. Dia de las Madres? Madres la que nos rompieron. 

The CharroBoys get into it with Arturo Vargas, world-renowned guitarist and vocalist for Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán since 2002. We discuss his upbringing, his many ventures within the mariachi world as a member of several groups and as a soloist, mariachi etiquette back in the day, the state of mariachi youths, and being part of the most famous mariachi group in history.
