The CharroBoys discuss which clients are the best to play for. After playing for some people who knew nothing about mariachi rep, it got us thinking about which clients make the gig easier or more challenging to go through. We also discuss playing at a disorganized wedding, our inicios in mariachi, and making it in the big leagues of mariachi, along with its challenges. The CharroBoys get into if there’s too many groups in DFW, hanging out and visiting our middle school’s crib, and playing gigs that never ever seem to end. Victor lo caimaniaron so hard on Christmas Day. Also, what constitutes a popurrí? We discuss. 

Ciento Cuarenta y Uno - Seems Like It's Bean Forever

The CharroBoys are back again. Again. Returning from a nine-month hiatus, they get into what they've been up to lately. We get into Victor almost graduating from massage school, losing elementos in our mariachi group, turning 30, educating during UIL season, and Sammy getting to play in a conference in Midland. This was a great episode to get up to speed with where we are. We are excited to get back to sharing our stories with you all, cuhhs.

Ciento Cuarenta - Since U Bean Gone

The CharroBoys are going on hiatus. With the real world just around the corner, Sammy and Victor are taking a break from the pod to focus on other projects. We get into why taking care of yourself is important, representation in media, Sammy making mariachi content for the last ten years, and how mariachi can make you a well-rounded musician. The CharroBoys have one episode left before taking a break. Recording a day late, we get into the cost of being a functioning mariachi, getting back to the real world, wishing our planta was better, and performing at Hooters. Los casados were in the doghouse after attending the aforementioned location.

The CharroBoys are releasing two more episodes before taking a break. With the new school year coming up for the both of us, we’re going to be focusing on some new things. We also get into being happy with yourself, Sammy uses a sleep machine for his sleep apnea, it working so well he was late, playing a gig at the town in the movie Twisters, and playing a risky el mono de alambre at a party. Sammy has never been more awake 👀

Ciento Treinta y Siete - Viva Quien Sabe Beber

The CharroBoys recorded a little late this week but we still poppin'. We get into some stuff that happened this week like staying at the planta til three in the morning, Don Miguel being on vacation, Sammy's body giving up on him, and taking care of your body as a mariachi. We also talk about our listeners' longest, toughest gigs. Remember kids, the older you get the more your body turns on a check engine light.

The CharroBoys are back after a couple of weeks. They talk about time off, Sammy visiting Mexico and having no water, and our first time in 10 years going to Albuquerque Mariachi Spectacular Mariachi Conference. We get into climbing mountains, exploring the city, and answering the question if we're interested in competing next year. Hmmmmmmm.

The CharroBoys sit down with friend of the podcast Willie Acuña, harpist for Mariachi Sol de Mexico. They get into it with his upbringing, his love for jarocho music, which BBQ is the best, harp implementation in school and professional groups, and his experience making it into a world-renowned mariachi group. This episode has been a long time coming, thanks Willie.

The CharroBoys were busy last week doing side quests. We get into Victor opening for Mariachi Sol de Mexico and taking performance enhancers before the show.
