The CharroBoys get back to it after 5 de Mayo weekend. A super busy week for most working mariachis, the holiday usually provides steady work. We get into the holiday in Mexico, playing at the fanciest restaurant we’ve ever seen, and hear your experiences at the 5 de drinko gigs.

The CharroBoys have a special guest this evening, Mario Hernández. He serves as current vihuelista of Mariachi Los Camperos, an LA-based grammy award winning mariachi group. We talk about his upbringing, growing up with his brother who also plays, learning mariachi the hard way by playing in bars as a teenager, and the experience of also being the guitarron player for Mariachi Sol de Mexico for many years. We also get into other things like Victor’s teachers beating the crap out of him, schooling back then and now, Victor being late for once, and being humbled at workshops by clinicians. The CharroBoys remembered to press record this week. We get into the crazy situations clients put us through during the gig. Who knows what's gonna happen during that gig?
