The CharroBoys will be back in two weeks after Albuquerque. For now we went in on this episode discussing our first cars, playing for las divorciadas, going back to OKC for a wedding with bad ass kids, playing in small towns, gender reveals with fireworks. The CharroBoys went this week without their boss for two days. We get into improvising without a head honcho, Father’s Day weekend, a priest that was very extra, playing an anime intro for a quinceañera, playing close to the local strip clubs, and Vic accompanying Shaila Dúrcal except not really. Got a pic thooo. 

Ochenta y Seis - Hell of a Year Pt.2 (Live Episode)

The CharroBoys celebrate (for real this time) 2 years worth of CharroBeans Podcast by doing our first live episode. It was great thanking you guys for coming back every week. We eat some cake and discuss the past 2 years and also get into playing til 2 am on a Thursday, 2 hours turning into 4 hours at a party where the requests don’t stop, playing at venues that felt like saunas, and waiting for fights at a gig. Thanks for supporting us up til now, y’all. 

Ochenta y Cinco - Unas Nalgadas

The CharroBoys kinda messed up their 2 year anniversary. Whoops. But we still get into it with this episode by reflecting on the last couple years playing in one group, seeing mariachis out of their traje, guys impressing girls with songs, wearing fake nails for the first time, and getting deceived at the bar.

Ochenta y Cuatro - Tiempo y Destiempo

The CharroBoys get serious for a sec. The community of Uvalde, TX lost 21 lives, something that continues to be a problem in our home state. 21 lives at an elementary school. Nothing has been done to change the laws to obtain these weapons that time and time again have given people the opportunity to murder innocent people. There is no one solution, but doing nothing changes nothing.

The CharroBoys kept it real this week. We get into why people that feel the need to put down other musicians, why they’re the worst, supporting your fellow charros, cuhh chambelanes, hot venues, playing for a white dude who can sing mariachi songs, and what could’ve been. 💔

Ochenta y Dos - Caballo Prieto Alterado

The CharroBoys had a pretty busy week. They get into a little about why mariachi history is important, playing Mi Viejo for a Mother’s Day gig, seeing planta regulars outside the restaurant, playing for a boxing quinceañera, forgetting your strap, and playing for what seemed like a college frat party. Christian Nodal and Grupo Firme was on the playlist, of course. 

Ochenta y Uno - Yo Debí Enamorarme De Tu Madre

The CharroBoys went through it this year for Mother’s Day weekend. It was a loooong weekend filled with all pain and some gain. We get into playing through injuries, cop visits, upset stomachs, hot festivals, Canelo’s L, and weird mansions. Our bodies still have not recorvered. 

Ochenta - Si Dios Me Quita La Birria

80 episodes with ya bois and still grinding. The CharroBoys get into growing up going to church, illegally downloading music in the early 2000s, playing for a dude that doesn’t take no for an answer, and being civilians for a weekend. Bossman got you scoping out talent at the high school? Gotta get musicians from somewhere. 🥴

Setenta y Nueve - De 7 a 9

The CharroBoys gigged separately this week. They get into it with talk of their hood in Fort Worth, the return of clients you have broken up with, your boss forgetting you took the day off, unhappy old ladies, and kids beefin at competitions. We’re just trynna see people throw hands for the Division I titles.
